There’s no doubt about it — plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are growing in popularity quicker than ever before. Already one of the most popular PHEV on the road, the 2019 Chevrolet Volt adds a number of impressive improvements that elaborate on the vehicle’s current amenities. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to get a more efficient car, the 2019 Volt makes it harder to wait any longer.
Upgraded regenerative braking
The 2019 Volt will also see significant improvements to the brake regeneration system. The result will be stronger deceleration using either the Low or Regen on Demand modes.
Enhanced infotainment display
The 2019 Chevrolet Volt features an improved 8-inch touch screen infotainment display. Most notably, this advanced system will not include a new Energy app, allowing drivers to more closely monitor fuel efficiency.
Faster charging time
The Volt already has the best all-electric range of any PHEV in the U.S. market. The 2019 Volt will make all-electric driving even more viable by cutting charging time in half from previous model years. Equipped with an improved 7.2-kW onboard charger, the 2019 Volt will achieve a full charge in just under 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Charging your Chevy Volt electric car just got a whole lot easier. For the 2019 model year, Chevrolet has introduced a new charging system to cut recharging times in nearly half, making it easier to get out on the road in your eco-friendly ride.
The new system, which is 7.2 kW, doesn’t just double the all-electric driving range of your Volt per hour of charge, but it also increases its all-electric utility for owners who take advantage of plugging their Volt in around town to top off the batter.
“With about twice the range added during 240V Level 2 charging sessions, the 2019 Volt’s 7.2 kW system makes opportunity charging more worthwhile,” said Jesse Ortega, chief engineer, Chevrolet Electric Vehicles. “It effectively extends the vehicle’s all-electric driving range, while providing about twice the range for the money when plugging in at public facilities that charge by the hour.”
2019 Chevrolet Volt charging can be completed in as little as 2.3 hours with a 240-volt outlet and supporting hardware. That means you can easily take advantage of your Volt’s full-charge capabilities of 53 miles of EV range and 106 MPGe.
This new charging system is available on the Volt LT trim level and comes standard on the 2019 Volt Premier model. Celebrate this new offering from Chevy by stopping by Buff Whelan Chevrolet to browse our current inventory of Volt models.
